The Letter not Sent

This short film is based on the true story of 20 year old Naftali Steinfeld, a young Jewish immigrant to the Holy Land from Germany. It is 1945 and Naftali has lived there for eight years, recently becoming a Member of Kibbutz Shluchot. We learn about his life as he writes a letter to his brother overseas, Manfred. He describes the difficulty and constant struggle of building a Jewish Homeland under the oppressive control of the British Mandate forces in Palestine. Naftali tells how he and his kibbutz comrades are suddenly and dramatically caught in the middle of this battle which is now heating up. Dangerous and life-threatening decisions now confront this young idealistic farmer.
