Emily is a Freshman Film student at Syracuse University. She has been involved with Television and Film clubs since the third grade, and began making creative short films in high school. ROUGE was originally an assignment for one of her classes at Syracuse, which was to make a short film using non-diegetic sound– which is why ROUGE is only comprised of ambient music and the song "Femme Fatale" by the Velvet Underground. The short film quickly became a hit among the students and teachers for it's inadvertently progressive message by having an almost entirely female cast and crew, and a brute, unconventional depiction of a female villain.
