Guber: Rideshare Stories
Life is like an Uber ride, you never know what you’re gonna get. Guber: Rideshare Stories is about an old soul in the new age. As technology changes how we all connect, we find ourselves revealing innermost feelings to complete strangers. Jonathan, our idealistic poet driver absorbs all the problems people bring into the car from the outside world with a sense of humanity. Unfortunately, his desire to seek what’s “right” only ends up forcing a wrong turn. Jonathan has to give in to the reality that normal human behavior is erratic.

Producers of NCIS took notice of Nell Teare this year, where she shadowed directors James Whitmore Jr. and Bethany Rooney, each for an episode during production. This native Texan has produced and directed dozens of productions, while also coaching budding writers and actors.
Nell began her journey of storytelling at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. Nell went on to graduate from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she was cast in the original production of Memphis, which went on to win a Tony Award for Best Musical. Nell then founded Harmon Creek Press and published her first book, Celia and the Witches, through Barnes and Noble.
Nell made the leap to Los Angeles where she began working at Center Theatre Group as a part of the original production of Randy Newman’s, Harps and Angels. She became a company member at Celebration Theatre, and eventually, their Director of Development from 2011 to 2012. At the recommendation of a friend, Nell would direct her first staged production and a mini documentary called, If I Look This Good, Why do I Feel Like Shit. She followed all that up by writing, directing and producing three short films.
During the past couple years, Nell has directed over twenty book trailers for the company FILM 14, including The Atlantis Gene, Pandemic, Riven, Middle East Affairs and The Alienation of Courtney Hoffman. She also directed and choreographed the original musical, Rock and Roll’s Greatest Lovers at the Lillian Theatre and directed two stage productions, All Shook Up, at the Morgan Wixson Theatre, and Anton in Show Business, at The Hudson Theatre (LA Stage RAW recommended, Top 10). Nell also directed the original production StandUpera, a one-woman-show at The Actor’s Theatre.
More recently, Nell was a producer on the film, Upended, directed by Tessa Blake and starring Amy Landecker and produced the web series, Broke A$$ Rich Kid. Nell adapted and directed a short film based on Frederic Donner’s story, LOVE. She directed and produced the short film, Katie and Ben, and web series Guber: Rideshare Stories.
This past year Nell was invited to speak about the use of visceral imagery on stage and in film for The Science of Consciousness Conference. Also this year, she completed photography on the web series', The Hunt and You. Me. Us? as well as short films, Never Stop and Buddy. In the summer, Nell directed, Save to Draft, which was produced at The New York Summer Theatre Festival in Manhattan. She is currently in pre-production for the short films, Curved Lines and Always Remember Me.
