Synopsis
A Research team from ‘Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha Department’
conducted a Medico Botanical Survey in a forest in the month of December 2005. They
identified 44 species of plants and herbs having special healing qualities. Later it was proved
that those plants and herbs can heal many diseases of human beings. A huge demand
followed for these herbs and plants all over the world. The name and the location of the
forest were kept a secret. Still finding out about the forest a team of four persons namely
Ritesh, Mahesh, Ria and Smitha with the leadership of Ritesh go to the forest. The reason
being a company would have promised to buy those medicinal plants and herbs for a huge
amount running in crores. The team enters the forest fully equipped but not knowing how to
identify the products. Fortunately they come across a person Mutthappa who lives there
nurturing and helping the Government in protecting the forest. From generations
Mutthappa’s family would have lived there and Mutthappa who was brought up in the forest
is very knowledgeable about the forest, animals and plants, trees and herbs. Mutthappa is not
just duty bound but really loves the forest and the nature and would be working to protect the
forest very honestly. Ritesh’s team tells Mutthappa that they are forest lovers, they live six
months in a year in the forest etc. and asks him to show the forest. Mutthappa believes them
and takes them around the forest explaining about everything they come across. In between
once Mutthappa is shocked to know that these people are forest brigands in the guise of
forest lovers. He objects them and asks them to get out immediately but Ritesh tries to bribe
him and asks him to work for them. But Mutthappa leaves them alone and goes back to his

house. Now it becomes more tough for Ritesh and his team to survive and finish their work.
For their luck again they come across another forest dweller Gulla. He is also another
knowledgeable person though not to the extent of Mutthappa. He takes them around and
shows a few things. He takes some money and runs away saying that the forest guards are
around leaving them. The navigator could not guide them as there will be no signal. While
they are all in confusion, Ritesh is bitten by a wild spider. As there is no medicine for the
spider bite in the world, the poison starts working fast and he collapses. Mahesh runs and
somehow finds Mutthappa and brings him back requesting to save Ritesh. The gentleman
Mutthappa comes and applying the required herbs, which is available only in that forest,
saves Ritesh and brings him back on the feet. The whole team realizes their mistake, changes
their minds and decides not to go ahead with their robbery of the forest. Finally Mutthappa
takes a promise from the team that here afterwards they will never ever try to harm or rob the
forest and instead work for saving the nature and the forests.
