Wings
Two lovable yet fairly unimportant people meet on the set of a theatre production of “A Doll’s House”. Yen, a hardworking stagehand with a back problem, is tired to the point of exhaustion and considers returning to school. Chi, an aspiring actress with less than ten lines in the entire play, feels defeated by life and thinks about giving up on her dreams. Guy meets Girl, and the two develop a symbiotic friendship as they work together on various tasks. Between fiction and reality, they find comfort in one another, and soothe each other at a time of sadness, revealing their budding love through the transcendent art form that is the theatre.

A communications student with experience in various fields including (but not limited to) performing arts, foreign languages and social psychology. In the entertainment industry, actors get admiration, accolades, and applause, while the crew’s hard work behind-the-scenes rarely gets the same recognition, whether it be theatre or film productions. This short film takes an interesting perspective and views the world through the eyes of two lowly underdogs, hence the title of the film, “Wings”. It not only refers to the part of a theatre where actors and technicians stand waiting for their cues, it also hints that we are like wings of the same bird, only through working together can we fly.
