Lily Lunder is a student filmmaker, born in and raised in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. From a very young age, she displayed a gift for language and telling stories. In her first year of primary school, she was identified as intellectually gifted and accelerated, skipping Grade 1. She began to develop her love of film in Grade 4 when she was given the chance to create a short movie in class. From that time on, she began writing, directing, editing and producing films on diverse topics such as time traveling, UFOs and rare childhood diseases. She entered each one into ACMI’s Screen It competition, and after three years as a finalist, finally got her big win this year. She’s currently in Year 8 but will be moving to a new select entry school in the new year. Lily hopes to continue her passion for filmmaking and entering competitions such as ACMI’s Screen It. She is also hopes to gain some real-life set experience, watching and learning from directors on TV or film sets in future.
