Writer Biography - Scott Jakubowski

Novice of the Congregation of the Mission, Western Province of the USA. Currently pursuing a Master's in Divinity and Master's in Theology (concentration on World Mission) at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Originally from southern Arizona and having traveled and spent much time in various parts of Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America, Scott has personal knowledge of migrant trafficking and poverty existent in these places. Scott has spent several years working with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul before joining the Congregation of the Mission as a seminarian. Scott comes to the Vincentian's with 15 years experience as a scientist specializing in aquatic chemistry.

Writer Statement

The sinful social structures that persist in all of the Americas as well as the Catholic Church's, and especially the Congregation of the Mission's, responses to systemic change are part of Scott's Master's research thesis project to be completed by 2020.
