Mimosas is about monday mornings, the watchful fish, boringness, solitude, the laughs of the night past, and the banality of reality, magnified by the images that compose it, by the poetry of Frédéric Dumont, who won’t let the day end before toasting to it.

Director Biography - Simon Gualtieri, Alexandre Turgeon Dalpé

Born in Laval, Quebec, it’s at the Montmorency College in the film program that he directs his first short films. After his studies in CEGEP, he directs independantly Le Junk, which was projected at the Quebec Cinémathèque in october 2012. During his bachelors at the University of Montreal, he directs Recess and Assonance, both winners of the public prize at the film student retrospective. Assonance has been selected at the 2014 Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois and the 2014 Cannes Festival Short Film Corner. After his bachelors, he wrote and directed videoclips, experimental cinema and videopoetry. Mimosas, his most recent videopoem, has been selected at the 2017 Plein(s) écran(s) Festival and merited a jury mention at the 2017 Rendez-vous vidéo-poésie.
