Rules and Regulations for Entries

The festival takes place May 22nd to 25th 2025
Regular deadline is April 1st 2025.
1. Entry Requirements
Please list the screening history of your film.
We welcome short films, documentaries and features. All genres are welcome including animation and experimental films.
Films of all lengths are welcome.
2. Preview Screeners
Films may be submitted for pre-selection through password protected online screening formats such as Vimeo.
3. Entry Procedure and Selection
*Selected films will be notified in early May and you will be asked to provide suitable film images for publication, plus technical information, and confirmation of the screening format - if not already provided in your submission.
*Please note that by entering your film to 13th Parish we take it on your good faith, that should your film be selected, it is available to screen with us. Therefore we do not accept late withdrawal of films from the festival on the basis of other festivals selection or requests. Thank you for your understanding that this is a strict rule.
4. Screening Copies
We request all films to be available on a high res file. Some films once confirmed may require DCP but we will notify you of this if that is the case.
Technical requirements will be communicated upon selection.
Films not in the English language must be available with English subtitles.
5. Shipping of screening copies to 13th Parish
Screening copies must arrive to us digitally no later than April 30th 2025. This is important as all copies must be checked in advance of screening.
6. Promotional Material
Participation at 13th Parish includes giving the festival permission to use promotional clips of your film to a maximum 10% of the overall running time. Clips will be used in the context of the promotion of the festival and the film itself only and for no other reason.

GDPR: 13th Parish is bound by the same Privacy Policy that exists on your entry platform e.g. FilmFreeway. If your film is accepted we will contact you about the festival in advance of screening here to make arrangements. From there you will have the option to opt out of any e-newsletter or information we send you. We do not hold your information or share it beyond these situations.

    Excellent organization and great communication! The 13th Parish Festival program was exceptional and guaranteed great hospitality and interesting events. Too bad I couldn't travel and be involved. I feel all the more honored to have been included with my short and sweet “The Cormorant's Shadow”, and I definitely hope to attend one of the next festivals.

    This is a gem of a festival. The selection of films was intelligent and eclectic - a really enjoyable experience. I was lucky enough to get my film selected for the local selection. As a delegate, I got a free pass to all screenings, talks, and workshops. The hosting was great I met some wonderful other people in the industry and had some great conversations. I was lucky enough to be an award winner - and now feel inspired to push my work even further and in new directions - which is exactly what a good festival should do. Well done guys.

    It was a pleasure and honour to have been selected for the 13th Parish Film Festivel.

    I was lucky enough to be able to attend this festival in person. The team were fantastic! and the selections of short films from around the world were a joy to watch.

    I particularly enjoyed the workshops that were available. Being a Nominee, my lanyard got me into all the attractions for free. That was a nice gesture and a win on its own.

    Free drinks during networking sessions... Nice!

    A highlight was getting to hear Mick Hannigan whilst he presented his workshop on "Finding Audiences for Your Short - Tips for Short Film
    Makers". Some great tips, and a great man.

    "Silent Hill: Road of Guilt" was nominated but did not get placed, but we have more in the pipeline and hope to make it into another year where we will hope to make it onto the leader board!

    Anyone thinking of entering the 13th Parish should do so!
