Unable to cope up with a child born spastic, Amudhavan goes to Dubai on work. He is forced to return to take care of his daughter Paappa when his wife elopes after 12 years of stress and pent-up lust. Paappa slowly accepts Amudhavan as her father. When she attains puberty, Amudhavan transcends the limits of his gender and addresses her biological needs. But cruelly he loses himself and his assets to an affair with a maid. When 13 year old Paappa explores her sexuality just like he did, Amudhavan couldn’t bear it. Life gives them the slip but hope comes in form of a transgender who becomes his wife and Paappa’s mother.

Director Biography - Ram

Ram is an Indian Film Writer and Director who predominantly works in Tamil Cinema.
Ram after completing Master of Arts in Tamil Literature, began his journey as a writer in Tamil language. He was soon associated with renowned Bollywood filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi as script writer and worked in shaping the story of several of his films. Later he was associated with ace cinematographer and director Balu Mahendra, whom Ram credits as his teacher, and who, he says transforming him from being a film maniac to a film student
In 2007, his debut directorial venture “Kattradhu Thamizh a.k.a Tamil M.A.” was critically acclaimed and discussed the impact of globalization and the resultant social imbalances in the life of a common man graduated from a literature background. The film gained high critical acclaim upon its release with the critics describing it as “Kurinji flower (a flower that blossoms only once in 12 years) in Indian Cinema”.
His second movie “Thangameenkal” released in 2013 discusses how a common man’s life is twisted and turned by globalization and today’s educational system. Ram also made his debut as an actor playing the protagonist’s role of the father. The film won several awards and accolades which include:
• Won Best Regional Film, Best Child Artist & Best Lyrics in 61st National Film Awards conferred by the Government of India for the year 2013.
• Won the Best Director Award in Tamil Nadu State Government Award for the year 2013.
• Selected & screened in Indian panorama section at the 44th International Film Festival of India, Goa in the year 2013.
• Selected and screened in the “Children’s World” section at the 18th International Children’s Film Festival 2013 held at Hyderabad, India.
• Won the Best Film award at the 11th Chennai International Film Festival.
His third movie “Taramani” discusses on the male-female relationship in the contemporary world. The movie depicts the modern day relationship and its complexities through various characters in the movie. The movie was released in Aug 2017 to a high critical and commercial acclaim.
His next film titled “Peranbu a.k.a Resurrection” starring South Indian Superstar Mammootty is in its post-production stage and is expected to be released soon.
