Slovo (The Word) - Interactive Documentary

The cast is reading actual statements directed against those similar to them: namely, elderly, homosexuals, ‘non-Slavs’, HIV-positive, homeless or people with unusual appearance. All these are the ones who often find themselves being treated as ‘different’ or who easily become a target for unmotivated hatred. By pressing a space bar at any time the audience can ‘jump’ from these words to the deeds, which are symbolized by the project’s actual recordings of true aggression.

Director Statement

«It would be rather wonderful if art could always give answers and change the world. Though I’m sure it doesn’t work like this. However, I know that art can ask questions. So it allows one to see and rethink something that was previously invisible by means of art».
