Director Biography - Behnaz Abdollahi

Born 1966 in Teheran/Iran
Behnaz Abdollahi is a painter and she is kind of floating between different cultures.

She was introduced to the world of colors and forms by his father who was an experienced painter at a very young age with much enthusiasm and vigor.

In 1985, she left her native country Iran and spent few years in Turkey, Germany and Spain. She used this time for further development of her painting style.
Her work has been exhibited in Germany, Turkey and throughout Iran.
Later she discovered mural paintings and colorful interior designs, as another field of expression and as a possibility to realize her paintings in a larger scale.

In 2001 she returned to her country of origin and stayed there for a longer term so she had the oppurtunity to teach painting in her own atelier in Tehran.
Since 2011, she has lived in Hamburg, Germany and continues to paint as well as writes poetry and is also interested in film making and photography.
Her film “Beyond Seeing” was first shown on the festival: “Contemporary Visions – Videoart in loop” in 2017 in Italy, Canada, Greece, Japan, Bulgaria, UK, Sweden, Naples and Colombia...
