"Look Within"
"Look Within" is a Wayang Shadow Puppet theatre production created with a combination of traditional and digital puppets.
Sound Body Culture has created a series of historically based productions about the heritage of the Caribbean and Caricon Nations. "Look Within" contributes to this collection of work by highlighting the Javanese contribution to Caribbean culture.
Performed in both English & Bahasa Indonesia, this production tells traditional stories from Indonesian and Suriname culture.

Obediya is a Producer, Composer, Musician & Storyteller who has lived in Vancouver for over 20 years. He composes music for Film, Musical Theatre, Opera, and Radio. His Radio Drama productions have been recognized with multiple national awards for excellence.
Internationally his music compositions for dance films have been showcased in festivals in Brooklyn, Hollywood, Atlanta, Paris, France and Leipzig, Germany.
In 1997 he traveled to Indonesia and studied Gamalan. His love for the people and culture of Indonesia has inspired him to create this production to share the culture of Java and Indonesia with the world.
