Kaire Russ is an international filmmaker from Estonia. She studied film in Madrid in La Escuela Superior de Artes é Espectaculos TAI 2005 - 2008. After her studies she moved to London and worked together with Karen Kangro on a film production company called Truckproductions. Under Truckproductions she produced her short film called “No victims, No angels”. At the same time Kaire worked at the post production company Deluxe Digital London to learn more about the distribution process. In 2012 Kaire moved to Sweden to study physical theatre at Valla Folkhögskola Acting and Collaborative Theatre. Kaire's main interest lies in the acting process and she always felt that film school did not give her enough tools to direct actors. After theatre school 2014 Kaire directed “Vill du ha sex?” that is one of the short films in a trilogy named “Antologi” 2017. “Antologi” is currently in the distribution process. Kaire is currently working together with Julia Boström on a short film project called “Hon är en stor flicka” that will be released in autumn 2018.
Besides filmmaking Kaire is also an actress and certified Nordic Stage Fight Society teacher. Because of her many training years in stage combat the fight scenes are one of her specialities. During winter she holds acting for film -classes in her current hometown Linköping. As a hobby she practices any kind of movement from modern dance, parkour to breakdance or ballet.
In her work Kaire looks for greater messages as film is a powerful tool to tell and influence. She expresses through beauty and movement. Her main interest lies in human communication.
