Marcos Augusto Craveiro was born in Campinas, SP, in 1955. Advertising and filmmaker. He graduated in advertising from PUC / Campinas in 1980.
He shot several films in super-8 in the 70s, including the documentaries' Close-Up: Regina Duarte; Portfolio (1978) and 'Marilia Pera - Bewitched "(1979).
He also have shot hundreds of TV Commercials!
He has been participating on three scripts courses and cinematography with the renowned director Robert Wise in their studios at Sunset Gower Studios (formerly Columbia Pictures Studios) in the US, respectively in 1980, 1983 and 1985.
In the 80 shot three short films in 35 mm, all in partnership with producer LC Barreto of Rio de Janeiro: 'John da Mata a Document' (1983), 'Gold Medal' (1984) and 'the Power of Love' (1986).
'John da Mata - A Document' (1983) is invited to attend the Oscar in 1985 and is among the top 10 by the Academy as best short films that year (only the first five most targeted is coming in for the Oscar list each year)
Just after that he’s been invited to be part of the collection of the Academy of Hollywood (the first and last film that is part of this collection is the documentary about the visit of Walt Disney in Brazil in 1945).
After the film was showed at Filmex Internationa Film Festival in Los Angeles,in 1983, it is also invited to join the AFI's Movie Collection in Washington, as the first Brazilian film to be part of the American Film Institute Collection which is in the National Library of Congress in Washington one of the most famous collections in the world.
Now Marcos has 5 of his shorts films at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Archives and at The American Film Institute Collection including his latest works such as

Even before its World Premiere this short doc was selected into many World Movie Archives and Film Organiations , such as UCLA FILM ARCHIVES, THE ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES ARCHIVE , THE AFI COLLECTION, CINETECA DE BOLOGNA ARCHIVE , NATIONAL FILM PRESERVATION ARCHIVE and others. An Honor for me and my short film about Tampa Theatre and its Pipe Organ.
