Return to Dzanga
Andrea Turkalo, one of the world’s foremost experts on forest elephants, has studied elephants in the Central African Republic’s Dzanga Bai for the past 25 years. After a massacre in 2013, Turkalo was forced to flee the site. She returned after more than a year away and since then, has been observing the animals trying to piece together which animals were killed and which ones survived. This video tells the story of her return.
