Director Statement

As Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities to live in Canada, taking the time for self reflection and art is often a luxury most people don't have. I wanted to create a film for Art's sake, with no purpose other then an escape from the mainstream view of the world. This film is called "Vancouver Renascence" because in the city's current economically crippling era, taking time out for creativity is the revival of something that has been dormant in most people in Vancouver. This film follows three different people as they each find an artistic and cultural awakening in a way unique to them. As different as each person in this film is, they are ultimately united in their creativity.
