Nadine Jackson began her career in acting while living in Vincenza, Italy for 4 years and Tokyo, Japan for 3 years. From 2000-2002 Nadine became classically trained in Shakespeare & Dramatic Arts at the Southwest Shakespeare Conservatory. During the same time she attended Film School at Scottsdale Community College where she earned an associates degree in TV and Film Production, and a certificate in stage directing. She also wrote, directed, and filmed several commercial specs and short films. Later Nadine attended Arizona State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre with a concentration in TV and Film. While there she also was a crew member on several film projects. Her capstone project was a PSA on socially conscious issues affecting young children. DYING TO LIVE is Nadine's first Independent Short film as actor, writer, director, and producer.
The idea for DYING TO LIVE came about when attending film school and became more relevant during the 2016 elections when social issues were on the rise. This was a story that I felt had to be told. I shared the synopsis of this story with my daughter, Jameelah Lee, who also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The American Music and Dramatic Arts Academy in Hollywood, California. Jameelah eagerly and enthusiastically came aboard the project as a co-writer and lead actor.
