Private Project

The Metropolitans

This Sports Action/Adventure sets the stage in 1962, where Tony, a credulous young boy (7), has an improbable encounter with baseball legend, Casey Stengel. This meeting conceives a loyal bond to the NY Mets. Despite constant criticism for seven years, Tony's relentless commitment, lands him the position of batboy for his beloved team.

The momentous summer of 1969 plays a major role in this story. We follow the horrors of Vietnam, The historic walk on the Moon and the gaiety of Woodstock. We creatively intertwine these events to Tony's innocent fortunes and the miraculous run of the 1969 "Amazing Mets".
