Experiencing Interruptions?

From Sand to Trees

A visit to the beach became an unintended opportunity to make a film. With no script, vision, or preparation, I shot this film with my family over the course of an hour.

Join us on a trippy journey through the desert!

Director Statement

This was a very fun yet challenging film to make, as I did not know I was going to be making a film that day! What began as just a few fun time-lapse videos turned into an hour-long production period. I recently had watched David Lynch's "Inland Empire" and took inspiration in connecting the characters physically (in the desert) and existentially (their journey). Over the course of one month I worked to connect the characters and their journey into the experimental-narrative that is "From Sand to Trees".
