Experiencing Interruptions?

Work Song no. 1

Work songs are complex artefacts, in that they provide a historical ‘measure’ of the work being done and convey the worker’s social and political condition. They also speak of what workers desire: freedom, the love of a good woman, material goods, etc. – and what they would rather be doing – dancing, drinking, and ‘drifting’.
This film, sound and lyrics are a contemporary vision of work songs, looking at the role of digital environments and functional music to take the mind elsewhere and away from the mundane taxing task.
