I studied Animation and Illustration at Academie Minerva in Groningen (The Netherlands), Animation at KASK in Ghent (Belgium) and now finished a Master of Animation at AKV St. Joost in Breda (The Netherlands).
An additional education in acting, scriptwriting and directing helps me direct human stories in a solid way: through effective storytelling and good acting performance in character animation.
The world needs stories. It’s how we entertain ourselves, but also how we learn and grow. As a scenarist and 2D character animator I believe in telling a human story: Educational stories, stories about life, stories about society and human experience.
Animation allows for more intimate and creative ways to visualize these stories. Because of my personal history, having raised myself due to a mentally disabled parent, I know why it is important for society to take an interest in others and learn about unfamiliar topics. In 2015 I have written graphic novel ‘Mamma?’ about my experiences. In my work I want to show people another side of life and teach them about new topics to help them grow, which in turn will help the world become a more well-rounded and versatile place.
