"Across the River" unfolds as an allegorical narrative, portraying the inner conflict of a young woman as she grapples with her fervent desire to attain recognition as a skilled cyclist, all while facing societal disapproval of her chosen pursuit. Her journey leads her to a profound moment of self-discovery, compelling her to wholeheartedly embrace her aspirations.

Director Biography - Haroon Habib

Haroon Habib is an Independent filmmaker, He grow up in a small town situated 200km away from the capital city of Pakistan. He is graduated in Multimedia Arts from the National College of Arts. He started making films in 2002 and directed many short films documentaries and music videos. In 2013 He went to Oklahoma University (USA) where he attended filmmaking workshops. He was selected for the Berlinale talents 2017 where he got the opportunity to interact with many film professionals from the different part of the world and that was a big motivation for him to grow in this field.
Filmography:
His Short Films “Land of the Fireflies” won many national and international awards and screened at many international festivals including 17th international children film festival India, short of the month. Another short film “Shehnai” screened at Zanzibar international film festival. He recently directed a documentary on Mount Kilimanjaro “Tanzania”
