Home Of The Rivers
Near death multiple experiences under Damascus bombardments became the motive for a second rational change in Salam Zuheiry's life.
For after becoming "Eshkenda"(Sabian-mandaean graded religious man), due to his feeling of pain and losing identity upon his immigration with his family and most mandaean community from Iraq to Damascus, since 2004 after Iraqian war, he endures a second war in Syria, which became his inspiration to come back to the art of sculpture that he abandoned since more than thirteen years. With the support of his daughter Noura and the syrian artist Fadi Yazeji, he slowly overcomes the religious man/ artist dilemma, and sculpts "the scream", his scream to stop all this death and shattering.
The film events with Zuheiry family take place in Jermana (Damascus suburb). The movie starts with the legend of the Mesopotamian flood, projecting it to the current Middle East wars; through the Zuheiry family the issues of identity and trace are questioned, as well as life recuperation after total destruction, in a hosting country that has itself become a subject to this new age highest ratio of immigration.
