BAGAD
This is a documentary film based on the traditional and cult ritual known as “Bagad”. This ritual happens in the rural villages of Maharashtra. This film enfolds the process of event in Bagad, which travels through the journey of the protagonist and his son’s relationship. The protagonist who is professionally a banker, who involves in this religious as well as precarious ritual only to fulfil his son’s desire to see him as ‘Bagadya’ (the man who performs this ritual) one day.
This film also deals with the parallel events happening.The origin of this ritual stands for the strongest contestant of both man and animal,as the tradition states that this ritual also celebrates the coordination and combination of both the man and the animal, As this relation between the man and the animal has its inception from the ancient period of mankind. The film also caters the beliefs of the people and their religious and spiritual ideologies towards the ritual.
The journey of this film indicates that hope and devotional feelings travel through various emotions like religious, spiritual and superstition belief besides the selfless love of a father towards son.

This is her debut film as documentary filmmaker. Trying to explore unknown traditions of India.
My purpose of this film was to understand the ritual. It's our belief that though rituals have religious ,spiritual or superstition backdrop there is also devotion towards love exists.
