Rachel set up Avant in 2014. A forward thinking company to create work which celebrates the Rhondda and the people who live/lived here by celebrating the past, discussing the present and creating the future. Works include Killer Cells and Blue Scar.
Lands of Our Fathers is a celebration about the diversity in the Rhondda. Between 1891 and 1915, 366,000 people moved to the area from across the world. We wanted to celebrate this diversity through family stories and capturing evidence.
