Black Ribbon

The incidents of the film “Black-Ribbon” happen in the refugee settlement. There is a wish tree in the settlement which all of the residents turn the black ribbon to this tree. This black ribbon make a metaphor to the incidents about Garabagh as the common context of film. So the old man who live in settlement has only one dream. One of the his son live in Baku who is broker. Because of his fathers illness he comes to village, the doctor says to him that it`s cancer and these last days of his father. Both of his sons keep this news secret. Then the scenario of the film continue of his rich sons`s fight for realise dream of father. This is the same fight which he wants to feel to father a great happiness, that we can back our native lands. But unfortunately he could not achieve it. When he wants to cat the sane wish tree in the village he notices that tree`s blossom. Elkhan opens all the ribbons and saves the flowers of tree. Same blossom makes us hope will get ride of the occupation or native lands soon.

Director Biography - Amil Mamibeyli

I was born in Azerbaijan, in 1989. I entered the faculty of director of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art and graduated the same university in 2012.
In 2013, I studied at the faculty of filmmaking and cinematography of The Russian State University of Cinematograph (VGIK) for 2 years.
My first film "The resident of the oil city" was the winner in special jury's prize at the festival of short author films by Russian "Artkino".
On holding script contest by Azerbaijan film studio in 2013 he was the winner on the 1st and 3rd place .
In 2013 I represented at the festival as a guest of honor at the Akdeniz University in Antalya which was held in the Rotary Film Festival.
I was the director of the film which was written by order of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism a short feature titled "Black ribbon".
In 2016 the State Committe for Family ,Women and Children of Azerbaijan held Azerbaijan Family Film Festival which was "Black Ribbon" the winner "The best film"on the nomination of Film Festival.
In 2016 "Black Ribbon" was awarded the special prize of the International short films festival of the first Asia held in China .
The 30th Fajr International Film Festival held in Iran in 2015 which he was a participant in the programme Talent Campus.
In 2016 "Black Ribbon" participated in the main programme of the short films at the film festival which was held in Kyrgyzstan called "Kyrgyzstan the country of short films.
In 2017, I participated in several film workshops as a young director in the Azerbaijani delegation at the XIX World Festival of Students and Youth in Sochi, Russia.
In December 2017, I was awarded the first place prize in the nomination "The Best Film" with the “Black Ribbon” short film at Hak-İş Short Film Festival in Ankara, Turkey.
