Dennis is a self-taught videographer who started his career in radio production, and currently serves as a trade policy strategist for Africa's supranational and regional economic communities. With graduate degrees in American Politics and International Relations, he spends up to 7 months a year in various African capital cities - advising countries on trade and investment. He takes his Inspire Pro and Nikon D5600 everywhere; filming and experimenting with images and sound in his downtime.
We shot this video over a 12-day period. I lost two Phantom 3 Pro drones - one just decided to fly right into a tree just as we were about to get to the Murchison Falls National Park. Because this was the first time I was in these national parks - although I spent my entire formative years and most of my professional lifein Uganda - I spent more time marveling at the beauty I was fortunate enough to capture - with both the drone and DSLR.
I lost the second drone because I got too close to unpredictable waves and water fall patterns. On the other hand, the reality is that this was my first time shooting in the wild, and I had, in my paranoia, carried a back up to the back up of my primary drone.
