Shield of Comfort, Audacious Shield

Sydney Rose grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She began her training in Richfield, MN at the Lake Harriet Dance Center. Sydney graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a Dance Major in 2017. She studied modern, ballet, jazz and tap under Joan Karlen, Michael Estanich, Jeannie Hill Pamela Luedke, Amy Beversdorf, and Patrick Strong. While at UWSP Sydney received the Katherine Bulkolt Ballet scholarship in 2016 and 2015. She took workshops with Katherine Kramer, Larry Keigwin, Jacklyn Walsh/Keigwin and Company, Brenda Buffalino, Autumn Eckman, Tania Perez Salaz, Rennie Harris. She has performed in works choreographed by Joan Karlen, Michael Estanich, and Jeannie Hill. As a highlight she performed in Emily Hein's, "A New and Different Sun," in the adjudicated performance at ADCA 2016. She spent her summers in Chicago at the Hubbard Street Dance Intensive, Gus Giordano's Jazz Dance Intensive, and Minneapolis for Shapiro and Smith's Intensive. Her most recent work entitled, "Panto, Danso" was performed in UWSP's Afterimages 2016. Sydney has had the pleasure to train with Russian trained ballet dancer and director, Marius Andahazy in Vagonava Ballet during January 2017. She worked at Trollwood Performing Arts Academy as a Dance Instructor June 2017, and currently teaches various styles of dance at Transcendence Xperience Dance Studio in Edina, Minnesota.
