Experiencing Interruptions?

Flak Studio Project

This dance art film is based on a personal story created for this project. It is deeply inspired by the place that it was filmed in. A place from 1800s that was a place for travellers and merchants to stay for the night and has so many stories in it.

In I.Ritual, Kinect camera with Synapse software and Max/Ableton are used to evoke sounds from the movement of the dancer. It was a great challenge to deliver a strong choreography with a solid artistic product and not just create sounds.

The other three parts were filmed normally to create a dance art video.
The music was inspired by greek traditional music adding electronics where needed.

This project was made as a part of the master thesis for the program "MA in scoring for film and visual media" of Pulse College, DIT,Dublin, Ireland.
