Katreeva Phillips is an award winning editor, director, and actress from Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated with a degree in Music from Texas Wesleyan University in 2011, and has performed as an actress in the metroplex for the last 20 years.
She directed her first "real" short film in 2011, and has directed 5 more since then. Her short "What Are You Waiting For?" was featured by the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History for the Titanic exhibit in 2012. When she worked at The Country Network, a Silver Telly in Entertainment was awarded to the company's "Guitars and Swim Up Bars", a special on their channel, which she edited. She currently also runs "Billy's Globe House Theatre", where she and writing partner Nicholas Zebrun just premiered their first all original musical, "The Boy Who Cried Giant". She is currently writing her next musical with Nicholas, titled "MarshMaid"- a southern take on "The Little Mermaid".
She is also in post-production for her next short, titled "Henry", a super-natural thriller produced by Esoteric Productions.
I was super intimidated to take on Action/Adventure! I've only ever directed dramas, and thrillers, so this was a brand new medium for me to explore. I'm so happy I attacked the bull by the horns, and took the chances that I did. I had never done a 48 hour film fest before, and I learned a lot about myself, not only in this industry, but as a person as well. I truly believe it confirmed that the paths that I'm choosing are for me, and that the confidence I'm gaining as a director can be deserved, and less questioned. I couldn't be happier with the team that I led, and am very excited to see where this film goes.
