Giungla dell'Orco

Giungla dell’orco (which corresponds to "Jungle of Ogre") is a music video which traces tragic stories of people who have been subjected to violence and abuses by a "powerful" man. They all come together on the day of commemoration of the Ogre, leaving unexpected reactions on the grave.
Everything flows in a peculiar way, using harsh and ambivalent sounds, that can be ascribed to the original Etruscan rock, whose RAPSOdiSMURINA are the founder.

Director Biography - Sergio Musmeci, Walter Smurina

Walter Smurina is both the creator and inspirator of the band who bring part of his name. As one would expect by a citizen of southern Italy, whose career was set in motion by the attempt to explore new worlds and different styles, his character is marked by an eclectic versatility.
Walter’s love affair with music began with piano lessons when he was 8 (with master Detti Bozzi). Soon, he left the academic studies to move his interest to the modern guitar and bass and towards pure improvisation.
From 1992 to 1998 he founded several pop-rock, blues, grunge or funky bands, especially during the long stay in the city of Bari (Apulia). After the experience with “Nonceverso” rock band, he decided to interrupt the aseptic and frustrating live performances in those regions.
In 2000 he was forced to migrate in Germany to work. In the so called “german period” (when he lived alone in Halle on Saale for nine months) he found the right dimension to compose music and his Italian original songs, acquiring a new personality. “In fact, the absence of any contact with my country was the driving force to write the perfect lyrics for the perfect songs”.
Time has passed by from 2001 to 2005 to study for the final project, in cooperation with Edditià association. Meanwhile he began to deepen the study of singing with the Master Tavarner, just to improve the technical quality of his voice.
RAPSOdiSMURINA were (probably) founded in 2009, before a live performance in a place in north of Rome, starting from an old idea of Walter Smurina, who gave to the group the final imprinting and his own creativity. Then, the rock band increased the number of components, while improving the sound.
In September 2011, the first official rock-album (entitled “CircoStanze EstRose”) was edited by EDTA suoni (EDTA sounds) production. The CD was recorded and mixed between Bari and Rome in the best recording Studios, resulting in one of the main Italian (better to say: etruscan) post-grunge production of the new millennium.
CircoStanze EstRose is a mixture of slashing sounds, sad passionate melodies and music coupled with lyrics full of ambiguities and almost anachronistic metaphors, something between a weird manual for high school and a circus story in rock grunge style. In the title is just all the inspiration of the author, who enjoyed to put in the box the main issues of the story and that all the songs were joined by a kind of gimmick.
Rapsodi still have long cooperation with other musicians, playing with different formations with various styles and projects; hence the features of their etruscan rock is very versatile and “unpredictable”. The promotional tour began on May 2011, reaching many Italian regions.
In 2017 finally a new incredible original album was edited and produced by Smurina with the drummer Federico Nespola (distributed by Goodfellas). The album, entitled "Oktopus il controllo d'elementi", was accompanied by live performances in selected club, open gigs or festivals and with a number of related music videos (available on youtube).

“Art is an interpretation at a half, so that the other half is let to those who are sensing. The artist should be therefore the means by which constantly implement this beautiful misunderstanding”
