Solipsism
Stan, a college graduate, is working on his dissertation to prove that dreams have a real connection to our physical realm. Bruce, a graduate physicist, keeps Stan in check after he orders new off-brand sleeping pills that induce longer lucid dreams. Bruce and Stan argue about whether consciousness can exist apart from the physical world in an afterlife that Christianity holds to be true.
Stan makes astounding discoveries about the dream realm with these pills, however, he soon discovers that the pills have a catch. Overdoes can result in distortion of reality, yet the prescription requires the user to up the dosage by one pill each day…or was it every other day?
This film contains mild language, creepy imagery, and one instance of drug use that becomes a lesson about the negative effects of drugs.

I grew up with my aunt and uncle in a small town with not much to do in terms of the city. My first interest developed when I was three years old when my mother (aunt) had this old medical dictionary. I saw a picture of the human digestive system and asked her to explain it to me, and as soon as she did my interest in the human anatomy sparked. I participated in science fairs up until junior year in high school gaining experience along the way.
Back in fifth grade, however, my interest turned to the art of film-making after my teacher assigned me to make a live-action film for my school project that year. At first unsure, I commenced to complete this project and found that when you are the director and the writer you can make the story and the film whatever you want it to be, and that creative energy drove me to make more films with my friends outside school.
Today, I have a Bachelor's in Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology from St. Mary's University. With 13 years of filmmaking experience, I have built up the skills for managing large scale projects that often take a year to complete, writing 45-100 page scripts, revising scripts, and marketing my films on social media. One of my films was recently screened at the Victoria Independent Film festival.
I took graphic design and media production classes in the past and have a portfolio of photography work that combines raw photos and Adobe Photoshop. I have done color correction, panoramas, collages, advertisements, and illusions in Photoshop.
My film experiences in writing, editing, directing and composing my own independent full-length film projects and working a job for St. Mary's Law School to edit and film a documentary have given me the variety of management and perseverance skills necessary to take on the tasks of this position. I created 3 promotional commercials for the Family Life Center, a branch of St. Mary’s University, to market their counseling services and I recently worked at the STRIVE Career Center where I collaborated with higher-ups to create several short promotional videos to market their career services.
After writing, acting in, directing, and editing my own independent films since the 5th grade, full-length and short, I came to the realization a few years ago that I want to continue to make films until the day I die. I've been doing this so long now that I think movie-talk. Often I'll tell my friends while we're walking, "Hey that'd be an amazing shot," or when we're talking, "Ah man, that'd be a great scene."
The entire process of transforming what's in my head to paper and then unto a visual film captivates me each project I take on. I like doing ambitious work, but often when I'm trying to actually film what I typed for the script, I think, "How in the world am I going to pull this one off?" but each time I find a way and each project I learn something new, which is why filmmaking will never cease to compel me.
