Pick the City UP Tour presented Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective unique brand of urban storytelling, featuring live hip hop, spoken word and story magic on public health issues St. Louis cares about including gun violence at venues, parks and community center throughout the city during the summer and fall of 2017. This video of 18-year-olds Trevor and Toryon and 16 year-old Antonio was captured at Thomas Dunn Community Center during a live performance at a youth-led festival.

Saint Louis Story Stitchers work collaboratively as social justice artists. The Collective is the Artist.

Director Biography - Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective

Founded in 2013 and incorporated as a public charity in 2014, the organization meets weekly with minority youth from economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. Saint Louis Story Stitchers has presented and performed projects publicly over 50 times for diverse audiences accommodating up to 7,000 people on different platforms such as stages, museums, festivals, and radio. Projects make way for community engagement through an artistic lens and with that Saint Louis Story Stitchers work toward shifting perceptions and bringing awareness to realities in order to bring hope to the Saint Louis community.

Trevor is a long-time member of the Story Stitchers Teen Council and a leading performer as both a rap artist and energetic dancer in the 2017 Pick the City UP Tour.

Pick the City UP Tour is about learning ways to better love ourselves and one another. The Tour is about learning how to be safe, to feed the body and the mind, creating a happier, healthier and wiser society.
