Rostered On
Shaun hasn’t quite figured out what he wants to do in life, instead, he has found himself on the wrong side of 30, working in a job he hates, dealing with painful customers, cliché co-workers, and taking orders from the ignorant. All to make sure he can provide for his family.
Based around the day to day struggles of working for a faceless retail corporation known as “Electroworld”. Rostered On is a tongue in cheek look at the all too relatable stereotypes we all deal with from 9-5:30... Day in, day out...
Since it's release, "Rostered On" has has gained a cult following online, and become one of Australia's most viewed web series in a very short time.

There comes a time in every man’s life when he realises he isn’t going to make any money being a rock star. That elusive man from the record label isn’t going to be at a pub in an audience of 10, and he isn’t going to hand over a $1-million contract on the spot.
So with rock star, pro skateboarder and pro basketball player crossed off his list, Ryan could focus his attention on another passion and has been creating moving images ever since.
With a talent to habitually go over the top when coming up with concepts, Ryan’s passion is in storytelling and taking the viewer on a journey.
We had no budget, no investors, no industry contacts or backing, just an idea. This industry seems so hard to break, for us, just going and making something seemed easier than trying to get funding, or big actors. We thought what better way to show everyone what we are capable of, than going out and just doing it?
We utilized a free casting website called starnow, with a short synopsis and were completely transparent when saying we had no money.
After the success of the pilot (180,000 views on facebook) we started work on an entire season of six episodes. We managed to strike a deal with a shopping center who gave us a very small shop space (around 6 x 12 meters). We went on a mission to find every broken tv and laptop we could, and raided cash converters for anything we could find and physically built the store ourselves.
We shot the whole seasons in ten very long days. We are very proud to say that exactly one year after the launch of the pilot we launched the first Episode of season 01, meaning we wrote, cast, rehearsed, built the store, shot edited etc etc. all in one hectic year, with no budget.
Since the season launched we have received praise from all over the world, and have had hundreds of thousands of positive comments, along with personal messages of people thanking us for being so real, and telling retail like it is, and begging us for season 2.
This truly was a labor of love, written and produced purely for the sake of just getting out there and making something. It was always supposed to be a stepping stone, and to hopefully get us work on other projects. But with smart innovative thinking and strategic implementation it has become so much more, giving us a bigger break in the industry than we could have ever hoped for.
