I'm Dreaming of a White Doomsday
From Writer/Director Mike Lombardo (The Stall, Long Pig) and Executive Producer Brian Keene (Horror Grandmaster Award winning author of The Rising, City of the Dead, and Ghoul) comes the disturbing tale of Kelly and her son Riley, weathering the end times in a bomb shelter amongst the ruin that was once the world. With Christmas eve approaching, and supplies and hope steadily declining, Kelly must make a horrifying decision that will cause her to find out just how far she would go for her child and what lurks outside the safety of their underground home.

Mike Lombardo is an independent filmmaker who runs Reel Splatter Productions, a PA film troupe who specialize in horror/comedy. He is an fx artist, and the director of over 14 short films. Several of his short stories and a handful of non-fiction pieces have seen publication, and he is a regular co-host on the weekly podcast, The Horrorshow with Brian Keene. White Doomsday is his first feature and also marks his departure from comedy into much darker and dramatic territory.
I wrote White Doomsday while my mother was in the ICU with Stage 4 Kidney Failure. She spent 9 months in the hospital with her condition teetering dangerously on critical. To stay sane I wrote a story about watching someone you love slowly fading away and being powerless to stop it, to only be able to try to stay strong for them and not let on how dire the situation had become. I'm Dreaming of a White Doomsday is that story. I based a lot of the character and story details on my mother and my own experiences growing up during some very dark times. I wanted to explore the slow death of innocence and the magic of childhood that the real world slowly erodes the older you get. The gray areas in life where you find yourself doing something that you would have once thought horrible but under the circumstances start to see as the right choice. I chose Santa as the ultimate symbol of that lost magic, slowly decaying as the world destroyed what innocence was left.
