This director also wrote and produced this movie. Emily Pearls had a B.A. in English, and a M.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of Memphis.
She is also an actress and published author. The very first film set she ever appeared on was the movie, Family Affair with James Earl Jones and Robert DuVall. However, Emily was working on a regular 7-4:30 government job, and could not pursue her passion at that time.
Emily retired in 2011, began re-building her acting resume and doing some writing on the side An assistant director opportunity came along when she was asked to help with the production of The Mystery Man Movie, produced by Eric Patton Production. It was a success for her, and she now had the camera fever once again.
The time finally came when she felt that it was time for her to do
her own film, and M. Pearls, A. A. L., The Movie is the product of her passion.
I wish to thank Indie Memphis for giving local film makers the opportunity to display our talent right here at home.
Lynn Sitler and Sharon O'Guin have poured so much out to Memphis, and I am one who truly appreciate The Memphis Film Commission.
