Anita is a young housewife who ritually follows a same routine everyday. She swiftly jumps from one household chore to another with a tight lipped composure. But moment to moment we find her dwelling in her memories; things she hasn’t ever shared with anyone, something she chose to remain silent about.
To me Rozana is about silences and how sometimes these silences have a much louder impact. Anita chose to remain silent about her sexual orientation. Her reasons are personal to her but eventually it leads to Anita living in a jail of her own making. And in this jail she must continue to remain silent.
Eventually Anita reaches a breaking point where the line between her reality and memories starts to fade. At this point, Anita could either continue to remain silent or finally build courage to speak up. This where we leave the audience to carry a debate on her choices.
