The Officers

Derrick and Ray are two plainclothes cops in Pittsburgh, PA. After an incident of violence, follow the two of them through the American legal system. Inspired by true events, this film takes an unflinching look at justice served in a country plagued by police brutality.

Director Biography - Alec Silberblatt

Alec Silberblatt is a writer and actor based in New York City, hailing from Pittsburgh, PA. In 2014 he created the web series BAKERY which examined working life at a Manhattan bakery and can be seen on YouTube. His second limited series MOVING followed the hunt for a room mate in New York City. He wrote and produced the short DOG OUT WINDOW the inaugural film for Dog Out Window Productions.

Director Statement

This film was made as a response to the epidemic of police brutality against black men across the country. It's inspired by real events that occurred in Pittsburgh. Some of the dialogue was taken straight from court transcripts. I made the film to start conversations about difficult themes that plague our country.
