Director Biography - SolAR*

SolAR*, born Nefertiti Abdulmalik on Chicago's north side on August 2 1991, was always drawn towards the arts and nature. While growing up, her parents insured that she studied art while also studying African history, African American history and the social justice issues of the past and present. Nefertiti holds a BFA in Animation from DePaul University and is now beginning her career as performing artist, combing her love for music, dance, animation and storytelling under the name SolAR*
