Director Biography - John Dickie

Award-winning filmmaker originally from Scotland living in Mexico for over 15 years. Has made documentary shorts, features and series both independently and for media like Al Jazeera, Univision and NatGeo on subjects like drug war, the environment, youth culture, and mezcal. In 2013 travelled to the war-ravaged Nuba Mountains of Sudan to make Eyes of Nuba, nominated for the Rory Peck award. Recently completed his first feature fiction film, Moronga, a surreal black comedy set in Oaxaca, starring Matt O'Leary and Kristyan Ferrer. Also exploring the narrative possibilities of 360 and VR. Lives between Mexico City and a ranchito in the Sierra Madre. Salud.
