TEACHING
Romeo Conte was coordinator of the Master of Direction and Event Organization for Polimoda of Florence, and also taught at the European Institute of Design in Milan and the University of Bologna L.U.N.A.
The short film "Fuecu e Cirasi" is taken from a true story that happened over 40 years ago in the land of Apulia; adapted to film, it runs through the director's places and childhood.
The colours of the Alto Salento exalt the moods of every protagonist; sky, wheat and cherries surround the story.
"Fuecu" (fire) is the typical state of mind of teenagers that each of us has within ourselves and, with growth, we remain with the will and the desire to keep the primordial flame of our spirit always on.
"Ciras" (cherries) metaphorically is that fruit that ripens at a precise time of the year and its tasting makes us seem to enjoy the success that unfortunately is often desired but is late. The director, when adapted and directed, thought a little to a western: an Italian but universal story at the same time, where all the elements complement each other.
Here is why you are in Apulia, Alto Salento, and all this is emphasized by the original music composed by Mimmo Epifani.
