Born in 1998, Lily Malm grew up north of Gothenburg in southwestern Sweden. She is a graduate of Academy Sinclair, an art school where she majored in dance and scenographic arts.
She has danced ballet, street, jazz, high heels and modern from the age of 13. In January 2016, she became a cinema machinist at a local theatre. Over time, her love for cinematic arts became her main priority.
During her last year of high school, Lily raised a budget worth of $7200 from various local funds to finance her diploma project, a short film called Incognito. The project is about two young women in love, torn apart by homophobic bigotry. The story is told from both a biographic, documentary and cinematic perspective; combining newsflashes from 1960s, voices from today's LGBTQ+ community and a contemporary romance.
Her ambitions lead to a temporary job as a judge at the Frame Festival in Gothenburg and an internship at Filmbryggan AB, a feature film production company.
Lily is moving to London later this year to work and finance new projects.
