Director Statement

We were born and raised together in Israel to a Jewish secular family with German origins. The choice to direct a film in Berlin in the German language rather than in our native Hebrew is definitely lead by the unclarity of our relationship with the European tradition in general and the German tradition in particular. We believe that the choice of language determines, at least to some extent, the way according to which a film is viewed and the message behind it, and found German to serve us better in that specific case.
Therefore, the production is half Israeli and half German, with an Israeli cinematographer and a German producer, and the film itself was written mainly in Israel but shot only in Berlin.
