Throughout his life, Matthew Rosvally has been an avid storyteller, who throughout many different periods of his life has had experience both on and off stage and in front of and behind the camera. For 8 years, he trained as an actor at the Neighborhood Playhouse and the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City. His most notable performance at the time was as one of the main cast of Neil Simon's The Good Doctor.
He took filmmaking classes in 2004 at the New York Film Academy and received a Bachelors in the Filmmaking department at Full Sail University. Throughout this period in his life, he practiced filming a variety of spec commercials on his off hours in order to hone his craft and learn the skills needed to make a movie that were not necessarily taught in class, such as the tenacity needed to complete a project even if at the eleventh hour it looks as though a production may fall apart.
In 2010, he shot the award winning short documentary, Manhattan’s Monster, about New York horror performance artist Sammy Mena (which can be viewed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIDqs9u13is&t=18s ). Shortly afterward, he moved to Hollywood, where he supplemented his income as a special effects makeup artist, a scare actor and a variety of other odd crew jobs on various independent films, the first one being Chromeskull, Laid to Rest 2. While crewing up, he spearheaded his own web series titled Horror Show Theater, a independent series of horror shorts, released in 2013 (a total of 10 episodes, which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUtDixlQHHs&list=PLc50K7GqInFvpcgajV9sWh7BccJCiIjOF ).
In 2016, Matt collaborated with his current producer, Guil Claveria, produce the web series Haunted Routes, a travel series where Matt and Guil travel across the country visiting unique business and haunted locations (One of their more popular videos, where they spend the night in the Clown Motel, can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSSW8RahlPk&t=21s ). Matt's feature film directorial debut is The Miranda Murders: Lost Tapes of Leonard Lake and Charles Ng.
This piece is a huge passion project that has been in the works for the last two years. I am so grateful to all my production team, especially my Producer, Guil Claveria, who saw so much potential in this that he was able to connect us with our star, Clint Howard (who I am a huge fan of).
