A Turkish childhood
Going into exile doesn't erase innocent childhood memories. It makes them even more significant.
In Turkey, nowadays, individual liberties are endangered. Naz, Nilu and Zafer settled in France in the seventies and eighties. They came from Istanbul, Ankara, and small cities in the Anatolian side of Turkey. Through their childhood memories, new aspects of the country appear ... Their past reflects what is at stake now.

Graduated in political sciences in France, I am specialised in the Mediterranean area. I studied sociology and cinema in Istanbul, and then came back to Turkey to analyse social facts. I lived in Beirut as well, working for an NGO. I am currently committed in a local radio in Paris, covering social struggles.
"A Turkish childhood" was my first short-movie, and almost the first time I was holding a camera ! I had this great opportunity thanks to ACERMA association and the filmaker Marie Maffre to follow this film idea and to make it substantive.
