Staten Island, NY native Andre´ Joseph had a love for movies from a very early age. He began his career making short films with family and friends on home video. Mr. Joseph attended the New York Film Academy summer program in 2001 where he first gained experience working with 16 millimeter film and later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emerson College in 2006 where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Film. During his time at Emerson, Mr. Joseph interned in television production with VH1 Classic in the summer of 2006.
In 2008, Mr. Joseph formed his own New York-based independent film production company, AJ Epyx Productions, LLC. The company’s first feature film, Priceless, which Mr. Joseph wrote, starred, and directed, premiered at Tribeca Cinemas and was selected for exhibition at the NY International Independent Film & Video Festival in 2009. His second feature film, Dishonorable Vendetta, was screened at the Urban Action Showcase in 2015 where it won the award for “Best Firefight.”
Mr. Joseph’s most recent projects have been produced as short films. The dramatic thriller Night Stream was nominated for 4 World Music & Independent Film Festival awards in 2014 including winner for “Best Supporting Actor.” The college life comedy Tempted premiered at the Garden State Film Festival in March 2015 and was used for a special speaking engagement about fraternity life at Wesleyan University. In addition to film projects, Mr. Joseph has also freelanced as a videographer and editor for companies such as Vintage NYC Magazine and NBC Entertainment. His next project will be the short film The Saxophonist which is fiscally sponsored by the New York Foundation of the Arts.
It was a pipe dream to consider doing a sequel seven years ago while we were in the midst of making Dishonorable Vendetta. I remember it being an extraordinary experience as I saw my screenplay involve into something more than just a crime thriller. There were scenes filled with human drama that got me intrigued enough to want to revisit the characters of Agents Miller, Stokes, and Marks one day so that I could see how their lives play out when a certain case hits too close to home.
In this long journey to produce Vendetta Games, I want to express my full gratitude to every cast and crew member who devoted their time and effort into the work. Whether they only worked one day of production or took the full ride all the way through, it means so much to me how we were capable of bringing to life a very complex vision of mine that many would view as ambitious. At times, the production process had some complicated challenges. The time I spent working on the film helped me to learn a lot about myself both in front of the camera and behind it. What mattered to me the most was everyone’s constant support for the project to move forward.
This film would have not been possible without the help of every Kickstarter and Indiegogo backer who believed in our story. I also give thanks to my brother for life Chris Corulla, Jr. for going above and beyond in his explosive performance as Miller. Finally, I want to give a big special thanks to J.R. Carter not only as an inspirational boss on screen but also being a great producing partner behind the scenes and kept everyone motivated all the way.
I hope everyone enjoys the Games and comes out of it feeling like a winner.
