Crossing Sacred Ground follows a group of modern-day pilgrims as they travel from the spiritual sites of the Kathmandu Valley across the Himalaya to Mount Kailash in Tibet. Along the way, the film examines the role of sacred landscapes in contemporary life and society.

David Zurick is a geographer/photographer working in the Himalaya region since 1980. He is the author of numerous award-winning books of scholarship, creative nonfiction, and photography. His work is supported by science grants and artist fellowships. He is a Fellow of The Explorers Club and a recipient of the Mount Everest Award. Crossing Sacred Ground is his first film.
