Karla, a high school student goes frecuently to a coffe shop because she likes the stories she reads there. She meets Julio, the owner, who helps her with her dream to become a writer. But after five years gone for college, she comes back to the coffe only to discover it has changed just like she did. Karla has
Nostalgia and decides to write again.
This short connects the audience with animals because the cat in the coffe represents a part of Karla itself, showing that animals aren´t just perfect companions but that they also reflect our humanity.

Director Statement

In this short, I narrate the story of Karla's favorite book coffee shop turning into an impersonal coffee, reflecting the grow of her town into a city.
I want show how the people and things we used to do in the past leave a mark in our lives and make us who we are, and that the nostalgia that we feel about our past self can be a good incentive to return to things we felt passionate about in the past. Also that animals can be part of ourselves and that they can bring the best of us.
