Little Rebel
Little Rebel is about Isatou Jallow — a remarkable West African woman from The Gambia, and now Seattle resident. Since seeking asylum in the USA in 2012, Isatou has pursued graduate degrees at the UW Law School while she continuously advocates for women, asylees and people with disabilities. Dimensions of Isatou’s epic journey—from her origins and physical hardships to scholarship, becoming a lawyer and leader, demonstrating an ultimate resiliency and altruism— are deeply human, harrowing, transcendent, tenacious…and part of the American immigrant story.

Aimie Vallat | For the past twenty years, I have worked as a social change agent in the non-profit and documentary film sectors. I have focused on issues of sustainability, social justice, and building thriving communities. My passion as a storyteller is to create films about important social issues while inspiring action, galvanizing change and honoring the courageous voices around us.
Guido Ronge | I was born in Southern Germany and developed a love of travel at a very early age. I've had the opportunity to work with many great still photographers, documentary film makers, and television stations before relocating to Seattle in 1995. Since then I've worked as a camera technician, camera assistant and then made the transition to working as a DP for many commercials, documentaries, and corporate films all over the world.
We created Little Rebel following the US Administration's travel ban and their overall policy of discrimination against our nations immigrant, refugee and asylee communities. We approached Isatou Jallow, a Seattle based advocacy leader, and together developed her story as a way to honor their gifts and contributions.
